On Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 5:50 AM, the Lenoir Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the 1500 block of Morganton Boulevard. The investigation indicated a pedestrian was struck by three different vehicles. At the time of the crash, the pedestrian was walking in the roadway on Morganton Boulevard. The second vehicle to make contact with the pedestrian failed to remain at the scene of the crash and has not yet been located. As of now, there is no description of the vehicle that fled the scene.
There was no indication of impairment with any of the parties that officers interacted with at the crash scene.
The pedestrian, Justin Allen Franklin (28 years old) of Lenoir, was transported to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital with life threatening injuries.
